  这种高效率可以降低系统级功耗,而AD9268的性能则不会下降。ADP2114是一款低噪声DC-DC稳压器,提供两个同步降压通道(2 A/2 A或3 A/1 A组合),效率最高可达95%。该器件具有300 kHz、600 kHz或1.2 MHz的可选开关频率,也可以与200 kHz至2 MHz范围内的外部频率同步。
 
  AD9268是一款低功耗ADC,针对通信应用进行了优化,能够对最高300 MHz的模拟输入频率进行数字化处理。这款ADC的信噪比(SNR)超过78 dB,非常适合高动态范围和低功耗至关重要的通信应用。AD9268内置片内时钟分频器(1:8),可以改善输入时钟信号的抖动性能,从而改善较高模拟输入频率时的噪声性能。可以使能AD9268的片内扰动功能,以改善积分非线性(INL)和无杂散动态范围(SFDR)性能。
 
电路描述
  图1显示该ADP2114电源解决方案,它为AD9268 ADC提供所需的全部输入供电轨。ADP2114的输入为+3.6 V低纹波直流总线电源。ADP2114的两路输出与AD9268所需的两个电源相连,包括AVDD供电轨(+1.8 V/390 mA)和DRVDD供电轨(+1.8 V/55 mA)。ADP2114的开关频率通过与FREQ引脚相连的27 kΩ电阻设置为1.2 MHz。高开关频率允许使用较小的外部器件,从而降低该电源解决方案的整体电路板空间需求。与OPCFG引脚相连的电阻设置为4.75 kΩ时,可将ADP2114设置为双2 A强制PWM输出模式。

  各输出均采用一个两级LC滤波器,第一级利用一个电感(L1/L2),第二级则利用一个铁氧体磁珠(FB1/FB3),反馈环路围住两级闭合。为保持稳定性,环路交越频率必须较低。稳压器之后还有一个铁氧体磁珠(FB2/FB4),以便进一步滤波。经过此铁氧体磁珠之后,这些电压分配至PCB的电源层,其中AD9268采用局部去耦。
 
  图2显示70 MHz模拟输入频率和125 MSPS采样时钟时AD9268的FFT。如图所示,与线性稳压器电源解决方案相比,FFT本底噪声性能没有下降,而且没有任何与开关频率相关的可测量频率成分或杂散。

  表1显示采用ADP1706系列线性稳压器和采用DC-DC稳压器ADP2114两种情况下,AD9268 (125 MSPS)上测得的交流性能数据。主要是10.3 MHz至200.3 MHz的各种模拟输入频率范围内的满量程信噪比(SNRFS)和无杂散动态范围(SFDR)。结果表明,采用ADP2114开关稳压器设计与采用传统LDO解决方案相比,SNR、SFDR或动态范围性能没有任何下降。

  表2中的效率结果将LDO稳压器设计与基于ADP2114的开关稳压器设计的整体效率进行了比较。为了合理比较利用各稳压器方案的输入至输出计算得到的功率损失,本实验所用的两种评估板均采用相同的3.6 V线内或总线电压。开关稳压器(ADP2114)设计的整体效率提高了35%。对于单个AD9268,这大约节省600 mW功耗。如果系统中使用多个器件,节省的功耗将相当可观。

  采用ADP2114等DC-DC稳压器时,适当的布局和电路分割是确保设计成功的关键。PCB堆叠(电源层和接地层)应紧密耦合,以改善旁路。开关稳压器电感应远离ADC及ADC时钟和信号路径中的敏感器件而安装,或者安装在PCB背面,以利于消除耦合至敏感器件的磁通量。还应仔细了解电流流向,以及器件或相邻电路布局。电路之间应有良好的隔离。

常见变化
  AD9258、AD9251、AD9269、AD9231和AD9204 与AD9268尺寸兼容,在要求较低分辨率或采样速率的应用中可以代替AD9268。ADP2114的电流能力可以驱动一个以上的AD9268。如果只需要为一个器件供电,则可以考虑ADP2108。在这种情况下,只要AVDD与DRVDD供电轨之间提供适当的隔离滤波,就可以利用单个稳压器给这两个电源域供电。
 
  若为ADC供电,低压差(LDO)稳压器与开关电路解决方案都可行。LDO电路的效率较低。开关解决方案可提高效率、降低功耗,ADC性能则不会下降。使用多个器件时,可实现更高效率,并节省更多功耗。
